End of 2006 Wrap-Up

Wednesday, December 20th, 2006

As 2006 draws to a close, Charles River Web Connections (CRWC) would like to like to provide you with an overview of the past year.

New Services

File Management System
One of the most exciting advances for CRWC this year was the development of a fully customizable, secure online File Management System. Already in place for Crossman Engineering, this system connects the Crossman engineers to their clients at Brooks and Eckerd Pharmacies as well as the rest of their clientele via web-based file transfers. CRWC hopes to extend this service to other companies as a business solution for sharing large amounts of data that would be difficult to forward otherwise.

Classmate Location Service

Along with CRWC’s work on creating five unique websites for the Cornell University Alumni Classes of 1973, 1975, 1978, 1982 and 1985, the company has entered into a new role for the University— we will now assist the Alumni Affairs office in locating Cornell Alumni with bad addresses. This is also a service that we would like to expand, and offer as a new service to our clients.

Website Development Projects

CRWC has begun to incorporate the newest programming languages as XHMTL, XML, and Ruby on Rails (RoR).

NETRA

Expansion of the New England Trail Riders Association (NETRA) website –built using RoR— was another major project for CRWC in 2006. Updates have been implemented to increase quantity and ease of communication between members and officials. Additions included the ability for event results to be posted through a form online, automatic calculation of ranking based on posted event results, and a members-only section where members can log in to change their personal data and check their rankings and promotion points. CRWC has also enhanced on-site forum capabilities, and made it easier for officials to post news and changes to events.

Rooms To Grow

Over the course of 2006, the CRWC team completed work on the website for Rooms to Grow, a Rhode Island children’s furniture company, providing potential clients access to the quality furniture and services that Rooms to Grow provides.

This has been a promising fourth year for CRWC. Connecting businesses to clients through well-designed websites has been, and continues to be the most important objective in all of Charles River Web Connections’ endeavors. The CRWC team looks forward to providing continued quality service to you in the future.
